About this postcard

A large-letter greeting card reading “GREETINGS FROM SOUTH DAKOTA,” with Mount Rushmore’s four carved presidential faces rising behind the oversized letters. Miniature scenes fill the interiors of the letters, a common mid-century device for sampling a state’s attractions. Mount Rushmore National Memorial in the Black Hills was sculpted by Gutzon Borglum between 1927 and 1941 and depicts George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.
