About this postcard
Grizzly bears gather in a sandy clearing in a mountain meadow in Yellowstone National Park, some standing on their hind legs and others resting or foraging near the treeline, with cubs among the adults. The caption calls bears and Yellowstone "almost synonymous" and notes that grizzlies are more powerful and less tame than the park's commoner black and brown bears. In the 1920s and 1930s, Yellowstone's dump bears and roadside feeding areas were a popular visitor attraction; the park later closed the dumps and ended public bear feeding.
