A black-and-white real-photo view shows several young men or boys posed on the steep face and summit of a large white sand dune, with at least three American flags held aloft. A dark opening or shadowed hollow appears in the dune, and flat land stretches to the horizon. The image has the look of an early-20th-century personal souvenir photograph, and the flags suggest a patriotic outing or holiday. No location or printed caption identifies the dune.
