A stone castle-like mansion stands on a wooded bluff above the Lake of the Ozarks, with rocky cliffs and forested hills across the water. Kansas City businessman Robert M. Snyder began the Ha Ha Tonka estate in 1905; after his death in 1906, his sons completed the mansion. The lake was created by Bagnell Dam, completed in 1931, so the view dates to the 1930s. The castle burned in 1942 and its stone ruins are now part of Ha Ha Tonka State Park.
