A handwritten note from Shelbyville, Indiana, to T. S. Parvin in Iowa City reports that the writer mailed a $100 draft two or three months earlier and asked for a copy of the "Report-Proceedings And Encampment." Having received no book, he fears his earlier letter miscarried and asks Parvin to advise him. The card reached Iowa City in February 1884.
Parvin was a longtime Iowa City Masonic official and librarian, and the requested proceedings fit the fraternal business he handled.
