About this postcard

The card shows a smiling woman in a pale blue jacket and pink skirt, holding a large hat filled with red roses, beside the verse “Happy are we met, / Happy have we been, / Happy may we part, / and happy meet again.” The design is a general greeting postcard published by Theodor Eismann of New York and copyrighted in 1909. Eismann was an early 20th-century New York postcard publisher, and this card combines color lithography with sentimental verse and ornate gold lettering.
