About this postcard

The card pictures the Hearst Free Library in Anaconda, Montana, a Neoclassical building with a columned entrance portico, arched ground-floor windows and a balustraded roofline, seen from the street corner with a low fence and utility poles in the foreground. The library was one of several endowed by Phoebe Apperson Hearst, whose family's copper fortune was tied to nearby Butte and Anaconda. The printed caption supplies the building's name and town.
