About this postcard

A white clapboard farmhouse with blue-gray shutters and two brick chimneys stands behind a white picket fence, with visitors in period dress pausing at the gate. The printed caption names it the Henry Ford Birthplace in Greenfield Village, Dearborn, Michigan. Ford was born in the house in 1863. The original Springwells Township farmhouse was moved to Greenfield Village in 1944 and restored as part of the open-air museum he founded in 1929, where costumed interpreters presented nineteenth-century rural life to visitors.
