About this postcard

A large three-story school building with a dark mansard roof, dormers and a central cupola stands on a rise above landscaped park grounds, with formal flower beds, curving walks, benches and a smaller pavilion at the left. The card names it as the high school in Branch Brook Park, Newark's Olmsted-designed park laid out in the 1890s, whose grounds and adjacent school buildings drew visitors and postcard views in the early 20th century. A few small figures stroll along the path in front of the building.
