About this postcard
A paved road sweeps along a grassy, flower-dotted verge toward a wide sandy beach and the blue water of Lake Michigan, with a line of trees and summer cottages on the left and a low pier or breakwater on the horizon. The caption names the stretch of highway running between Two Rivers and Manitowoc on Wisconsin's Lake Michigan shore, a popular summer resort and beach corridor in the early 20th century. The scene is rendered in the soft pastel palette typical of late-1930s American view cards.
