About this postcard

A rocky stream runs down a wooded hillside, with several brown-and-white cows standing in and beside the shallow water. Another cow grazes on the grassy slope above. The trees show autumn color. Maine farm country was a familiar subject for early 20th-century scenic postcards, which presented rural New England as a place of working farms and quiet landscape.
