The card shows a Holiday Inn motel in daylight, with a curved lobby building, long two-story guest wings, parked cars, and a landscaped drive. An inset at upper right shows the swimming pool at night with guests.
By 1973 Holiday Inn was a familiar roadside chain, and its standardized low-rise layout and pool catered to motorists. The Waltham site placed it in Boston's western suburbs, near the Route 128 corridor that expanded in the postwar decades.
