A chromolithographed Christmas greeting showing a large gold handbell with its strap, wreathed in sprigs of holly with bright red berries, with a pale pink glow behind and a looping gilt ribbon at right. The greeting 'With Best Wishes for a Merry Christmas' is printed in ornamental script. Holly and bells were standard motifs of the early-20th-century Christmas postcard, when the penny post made illustrated greeting cards a mass-market holiday custom.
Handwritten signature 'Laura F. Sargent' along the bottom edge (not a message); light surface soiling and scuffing, minor corner wear; undivided-back era design.
Postmark: AMESBURY MASS DEC 24 8-30A 1907 (second, fainter strike: WALTHAM MASS DEC 23 3 PM). Divided-back Tuck's "Holly Post Cards" Series No. 100, printed in Saxony; light soiling and edge wear, no message written.
