The photograph shows a two-story white clapboard house with a screened front porch, reached by a long flight of steps. The house is identified as the home of Bob Burns in Van Buren, Arkansas. Burns was an Arkansas-born comedian and radio entertainer whose homemade bazooka, a pipe-and-funnel instrument, later gave the U.S. rocket launcher its nickname. Van Buren sits across the Arkansas River from Fort Smith, and Burns's radio work in the 1930s made him a familiar national personality.
