About this postcard

The card pictures the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company's Home Office Building in Springfield, Massachusetts, a long red-brick Georgian Revival office block with white colonnades and a central tower capped by a gold dome. MassMutual was founded in Springfield in 1851 and became one of the city's major financial institutions; this monumental headquarters expressed stability and civic presence. The landscaped grounds and curved drive are typical of early twentieth-century corporate campus imagery.
