A tinted view of the Hotel Elton, a large six-story brick and stone commercial hotel on a Waterbury street corner, with an American flag flying from the roof, flower boxes at the windows, and pedestrians and horse-drawn vehicles on the street below. The card's own caption names it as the Hotel Elton of Waterbury, Connecticut, and the imprint dates the copyright to 1905. Waterbury was then a thriving brass-manufacturing city, and a hotel of this scale served its downtown business and traveling trade.
White border around the image; copyright line printed vertically along the right edge; printed number 111 at lower left of caption.
Undivided back, unused; no postmark, no handwriting. Government-style stamp box ("PLACE STAMP HERE / ONE CENT / FOREIGN, TWO CENTS") on privately printed stock; white border on front, matte printed texture. Light soiling/toning on the blank address side.
