About this postcard
A black-and-white view shows the Hotel Lincoln, a tall brick and stone tower with Art Deco setbacks and a flag-topped mast, seen from a low corner angle above surrounding rooftops. The hotel opened in 1928 between West 44th and 45th Streets at Eighth Avenue, part of the boom in Times Square-area hotel construction. It later operated under other names, including the Milford Plaza. The hotel advertised 1,400 outside rooms with bath, radio, and servidor, four restaurants including the Blue Room and Tavern Grill, and a subway entrance in the building. Its printed heading places it in the heart of Times Square, with 69 theatres within six blocks, and names Frank W. Kridel as managing director.
