About this postcard

The image shows the Hotel Sheraton, a tall brick hotel with a prominent tower and many windows, rising above a busy Newark street. Its sign reads "HOTEL SHERATON," and motorcars and pedestrians fill the foreground, with lower commercial buildings and a bus nearby. Newark was a busy industrial and commercial center in the early 1900s, and downtown hotels like this one served travelers and business visitors.
