About this postcard
A corner view of the Hotel Shirley Savoy, a large six-story brick and stone block with a heavy cornice, storefronts and awnings at street level, and pedestrians and automobiles along the sidewalks. A vertical blade sign reading "Shirley Savoy Cafe" wraps the corner, topped by a "KLZ" sign, and the hotel's name is spelled out in large letters across the sky. The Shirley Savoy was formed in the 1920s by combining two adjoining downtown Denver hotels, the Shirley and the Savoy, and radio station KLZ — one of Denver's earliest broadcasters — had quarters in the building.
