About this postcard

The Hotel Utah, a tall white terra-cotta building, rises behind lawns, flower beds, and trees in Temple Block. Two statues on pedestals and a small monument stand in the foreground, with a darker brick building at the right. The hotel opened in 1911 and later became the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. The view takes in the historic Latter-day Saint center, where Temple Square's grounds and monuments have long drawn visitors to downtown Salt Lake City.
