About this postcard
A tinted view across the River Thames toward the Palace of Westminster, with Victoria Tower rising at the left, the long Gothic river front, the central spire, and the clock tower of Big Ben at the right, with Westminster Bridge and moored barges at the far right. The Palace of Westminster was rebuilt after the great fire of 1834 to designs by Charles Barry and Augustus Pugin, and its Elizabeth Tower (Big Ben) and Victoria Tower remain landmarks of the London skyline. The card was written on and posted from London in August.
