About this postcard

The Hudobný pavilón at the Czechoslovak State Spa in Trenčianske Teplice stands behind a broad paved forecourt. Onion-domed towers and a domed entrance rise behind ivy-covered walls, while at right a circular flat canopy on slender columns shelters a terrace in front of a striped-facade building. A tall flagpole marks the center, and a densely wooded hill fills the background. Trenčianske Teplice was a long-established mineral-spring spa, and by the 1960s the Czechoslovak state operated the baths as a national resort. Music pavilions were common in European spa towns, where concerts and promenades were part of the daily routine for guests taking the waters.
