About this postcard
A view along the shore toward the village of Hyannisport and its long wooden pier, with sailboats and small craft at anchor in the harbor, bathhouses and wharf pilings in the shallows, and shingled summer cottages lining the waterfront. Hyannisport is a seaside village in the town of Barnstable on Cape Cod, long established as a summer resort before it became widely known as the Kennedy family's summer home from the 1920s onward. The printed caption names the scene as the pier and village.
