About this postcard

A long, low exhibition hall with a tall Art Deco clock tower rises against a pink-and-blue sky, with visitors strolling along a walk in front. The caption names it the Illinois Host Building, the state's hospitality pavilion at Chicago's Century of Progress International Exposition of 1933–34, held on the lakefront near Northerly Island. Such host buildings served as rest areas and showcases for each state's attractions during the fair.
