Looking down the nave of a Gothic-revival Catholic cathedral in Philadelphia, the view takes in clustered columns, pointed arches, ribbed vaulting, and rows of empty pews. Tall lancet windows behind the high altar glow yellow. The card's text presents the interior as an example of the elaborate decoration in the city's churches, and the advertising copy calls Philadelphia the "City of Homes and of Churches." The nickname was a common booster phrase for the city in the early 1900s.
