Inside Garfield Park's conservatory, tall palms and dense tropical foliage surround two white marble sculptural groups on pedestals, with a low pool in the foreground. The glasshouse, designed by Jens Jensen and completed in 1908, was among the largest in the world and a centerpiece of Chicago's West Side park system. The printed caption calls it the largest conservatory in the United States and notes free winter exhibitions of ferns and plants.
