About this postcard

View down the red-painted box pews of Old St. John's Church toward the raised chancel, with its pulpit, reading desk, pipe organ and stained-glass windows. Old St. John's, an Episcopal church built in 1741 in Richmond, Virginia, is best known as the meeting place of the Second Virginia Convention in March 1775, where Patrick Henry reportedly delivered his "Give me liberty or give me death" speech. The building survives as a National Historic Landmark and an active parish.
