About this postcard

A view inside the great glasshouse of Garfield Park's conservatory, with tall palms and dense tropical foliage framing a pair of white marble sculptural groups on pedestals and a low pool in the foreground. The Garfield Park Conservatory, designed by landscape architect Jens Jensen and built in 1906-1908, was among the largest glasshouses in the world and remains a landmark of Chicago's West Side park system.
