About this postcard
A packed view down the tiers of the Great Auditorium at Ocean Grove, New Jersey, with the vast pipe organ facade and an American flag at the center of the platform and the mottoes "Holiness to the Lord" and "So Be Ye Holy" flanking the choir loft. The auditorium, erected in 1894, is the centerpiece of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, a Methodist seaside camp founded in 1869, and its Hope-Jones organ of 1908 was long promoted as the largest in the world. The caption follows that claim, and the crowd shown reflects the summer preaching services that drew thousands of visitors to the Jersey Shore resort.
