About this postcard

The view looks across Jackson Lake to the Teton Range, whose snow-streaked peaks rise above the water. A long, low lodge and scattered cabins sit on a grassy bench in the middle distance, with dark evergreens framing the scene at left and right. The caption calls the lodge "new and modern" and describes it as built on heights overlooking the lake, where the mountains are mirrored in the water. Jackson Lake Lodge opened in 1955, a period when national park travel was expanding and park lodges were being rebuilt for postwar motor tourists.
