The scene shows a Jewish family marking Rosh Hashanah. A bearded man in a white kittel blesses a boy, while a woman lights candles at a table; children in holiday clothes stand nearby. The Hebrew caption, a prayer formula, and the English greeting "A Happy New Year" frame the scene as a holiday greeting.
The white kittel and candle lighting place the scene in the High Holidays, when families gathered for synagogue and festive meals.
White border; chromolithograph.
No postmark, no handwriting, no address. Divided-back chromolithograph printed in Germany ("Made in Germany") with Williamsburg Art Co., New York imprint; card no. 23; circa 1910. Light edge wear, faint foxing on the blank message side.
