The John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge fills the view, its sandstone tower and steel deck seen from the Ohio River with Cincinnati's skyline and riverfront buildings behind, all in a warm sunset palette. The bridge spans the Ohio between Cincinnati and Covington, Kentucky, and was designed by John A. Roebling before he went on to the Brooklyn Bridge. When it opened in 1866, its main span was among the longest suspension spans in the world, and it remains a Cincinnati landmark.
