Looking east along K Street from Fourth Street, a domed corner commercial block dominates the right foreground, with storefronts and utility poles receding down the block. A horse-drawn wagon stands at the curb, an ordinary sight on a downtown street of the period.
K Street was Sacramento's principal commercial thoroughfare in the early 20th century, lined with banks, shops, and office buildings near the downtown core. The view records the scale and density of that retail district.
White border along the bottom carrying the printed caption and publisher line in red; light soiling and edge wear; halftone screen visible.
Postmark: SACRAMENTO CAL. DEC [illegible] PM 19[illegible]. Undivided back with ornate red "Post Card" heading and "THIS SIDE IS FOR THE ADDRESS"; 1¢ green Franklin stamp; sender dated the card "Dec 11-08" at lower left; card toned and lightly soiled.
