About this postcard

The Kalman Science Building at Brandeis University stands behind a broad lawn, with a flat roof, a grid of glass windows, and a ground-floor covered walkway typical of mid-century modern campus architecture. Trees frame the view, a large boulder sits at the left, and several people sit or lie on the grass in the foreground. Brandeis was founded in 1948 as a nonsectarian university in Waltham, west of Boston, and by the mid-1960s its campus was still growing. The sender, an insurance agent, remarks that the "Advanced Institute" at Brandeis is educational and helps him keep up to date.
