About this postcard

A domed stone sentry box with a ball finial stands on a brick-paved area at left, overlooking the harbor at La Fortaleza, the governor's residence in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Across the water, a long stone wall runs along the shore, with city buildings, palm trees, and a flag behind it. Distant hills sit on the horizon under a clear blue sky. La Fortaleza was built in the 16th century as a fortress and has long served as the governor's residence. Its domed garitas, or sentry boxes, are a signature of the Spanish colonial defenses that ring Old San Juan.

Hi We're having a wonderful time here. The people are just great to us, and there are so many places to see. We flew to St. Thomas the other day on a six seater. Love, Donna
