About this postcard
The chancel of the Lady Chapel at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin, with three tall stained glass windows above the altar and rows of pews in the foreground. The sender made the photograph himself, writing on the back that he had taken it "in the Lady Chapel St. Patrick's, a week ago." St. Patrick's is the Church of Ireland cathedral on the south side of Dublin, heavily restored in the 1860s with money from the Guinness family and by this time a regular stop for visitors to the city. The writer was lodged at King's Hospital, a Dublin school, and used the card mainly to scold a correspondent in Norfolk for not answering his letters, warning that she would have to keep "expecting a letter" until somebody replied to the one he had sent before Whit Monday.
