About this postcard

A view across a blue lagoon toward a long, low pavilion with a screened veranda and a chimney, set on a grassy slope among trees in autumn color. Benson Park was a popular amusement and recreation park in north Omaha, laid out in the 1880s and served by streetcar lines; its pavilion, lagoon and picnic grounds drew crowds until the park closed in the mid-20th century. The printed caption names the scene as the lagoon and pavilion.
