About this postcard

A view across the still lagoon in Vander Veer Park, with a small fountain or bubbler rising from the water and dense shade trees ringing the bank. Park benches and a lamp post sit along the shore. The park was laid out in the 1880s and is Davenport's oldest public park, long known for its conservatory and floral displays. The printed caption uses the spelling "Vanderveer."
