Printed photo

About this postcard

A view across the park lake toward a red boathouse with arched windows and a dock, framed by a large tree at left and a flowering rose bush in the right foreground. Lawns and a curving path lead down to the water. The caption calls Lincoln Park one of the city's choice picnic grounds, with a merry-go-round, swings for children, and the lake for boating. Formerly Eastlake Park, it was a popular recreation spot in early twentieth-century Los Angeles, drawing families for boating, picnics, and amusement rides.
