About this postcard

A grassy lakeside park at Lake Cable, with a large weeping willow at left and a child sitting on a swing hung from its branches. A rowboat and several people gather at a small dock or float on the water, and a white building with a bench stands at right. Lake Cable was a man-made lake begun by the Cable brothers about five miles northwest of Canton, Ohio, on 650 acres, with 265 acres under water. Fed by dozens of springs, it was developed as a private club community with homes along its shoreline, a sandy beach, and a bath house for Lake Cable Club members. The lake was known for bass, pickerel, and bluegills.
