Lake Champlain from "Red Rocks", Burlington, Vermont, circa 1910

Card type

About this postcard

Two women in long skirts and flower-trimmed hats stand at a rustic wooden rail fence on a bluff above Lake Champlain, looking out over the water toward a wooded point and distant shoreline. The view is taken from the Red Rocks outcrop, a well-known promontory on the Burlington, Vermont waterfront that overlooks the broad lake toward the Adirondack shore. The tinted, softly colored rendering is typical of early twentieth-century view cards of the Burlington area.
