About this postcard

A large-letter greeting card in which the words "MORGANTON NORTH CAROLINA" are filled with small views: a waterfall, a lakeside scene, a flowering garden, a church tower, a stone obelisk monument and the North Carolina state flag, all set against a blue, yellow and red ground with green leaves at the lower right. Morganton is the county seat of Burke County in the foothills of western North Carolina, a region known for its waterfalls, lakes and mountain scenery. The linen-textured stock and bright flat coloring are typical of American greeting cards printed from the 1930s into the 1950s.
