About this postcard
A large brick commercial block on a street corner, with arched windows on the upper floors and storefront awnings shading the ground level. Pedestrians and a bicyclist are out on the roadway, and trolley tracks run past the building. Waltham was a mill city west of Boston, known for its watch works and textile plants, and a downtown corner block like this one typically put shops at street level with offices or meeting rooms above. The trolley tracks belong to the street railway that carried workers and shoppers through the business district in the early twentieth century.
