The Leavenworth County Court House is shown as a large red-brick building with white stone trim, arched windows, a green mansard roof and a central clock tower, standing behind a lawn and a row of young trees. Its Second Empire massing — mansard roof, dormers and tower — was a common choice for county seats built in the late nineteenth century across the Midwest. The building served as the seat of Leavenworth County, Kansas, in a city that was among the earliest and largest settlements in the state.
White border along the right edge; visible halftone dot pattern and grainy linen-like texture; light edge wear.
No postmark. Unused divided-back card; publisher imprint on left edge; handwritten name on address side; minor age toning.
