The view looks across the Lincoln Memorial Bridge, a wide concrete span with balustraded parapets and lamp posts, toward a landscaped lagoon and the open water of Lake Michigan beyond. Flower beds and shrubbery line the bridge approach, and a few tiny figures and cars suggest the scale of the roadway. The bridge carries Lincoln Memorial Drive, the city's lakefront boulevard, over the Milwaukee River near the lake shore.
