About this postcard

The Lincoln Memorial rises beyond a green lawn, its white Doric colonnade and attic frieze set above dark shrubbery and beds of red and yellow flowers. The sky grades from blue to pink and yellow near the horizon. The memorial was dedicated in 1922 on a terraced plot in West Potomac Park. Henry Bacon designed the temple-form building, Daniel Chester French modeled the massive seated Lincoln statue, and Jules Guerin served as mural decorator. The caption calls the memorial one of Washington's most impressive monuments.
