About this postcard
A wide paved boulevard sweeps into the tree-filled expanse of Forest Park at the Lindell Boulevard entrance, with automobiles crossing the intersection, landscaped islands of red and yellow flowers, small fountains and lamp posts. Forest Park, laid out in the 1870s on the western edge of St. Louis, was the site of the 1904 Louisiana Purchase Exposition and remains one of the largest urban parks in the United States. The view looks toward the park's wooded interior, with a large brick apartment building at the right edge.
