A row of long, low log cabins with covered porches lines the right side of a clearing, with a large shade tree at left and a stand of mixed conifers behind; the card names the scene "The Camps at Round Mountain Lake, Me." Such lakeside cabin camps were typical of early-20th-century Maine sporting and vacation resorts, where sportsmen and families took rustic quarters for the summer fishing and outing season. The tinted halftone gives the rustic buildings a green-and-sepia cast.
White border; tinted halftone with visible screen texture; foxing/staining along the left and top edges; handwritten message in blue ink on the right margin of the picture side.
Postmark: EUSTIS OCT 20 7 AM 1908 ME. Divided-back private "POST CARD" stock with column-and-wreath heading; 1¢ green Franklin stamp; light edge wear and slight toning on cream stock.
