About this postcard
Night view of the Louisiana State Capitol, its 34-story Art Deco tower floodlit above a low wing of offices and a landscaped lawn with young trees. Designed by the New Orleans firm Weiss, Dreyfous & Seiferth under Governor Huey P. Long and completed in 1932, it is the tallest state capitol building in the United States and a National Historic Landmark; Long was shot in its corridors in 1935 and is buried on the grounds. The card's caption names it simply as "The State Capitol at Night, Baton Rouge, La."
