About this postcard
A tall Art Deco skyscraper-style statehouse rises above a landscaped foreground of shrubs and trees, framed by foliage at the left and right edges. The Louisiana State Capitol in Baton Rouge was completed in 1932 to designs by the New Orleans firm Weiss, Dreyfous and Seiferth, and at 34 stories it is the tallest state capitol building in the United States. Its grounds hold the grave of Governor Huey P. Long, under whose administration the building was erected.
